Functional Incontinence

This simply means a physical or cognitive health issues that impede a person’s ability to get to the toilet in time, on their own. It may be physical, such as an injury, Multiple Sclorosis, Cerebal Plasy, Pakinson’s Deisease or even sever arthritis which may hinder the ability to undo fastenings and remove clothing in order to use the toilet.

It might also be neurological, including Alzhiemer’s, stroke and head injury, where the messages between brain and bladder aren’t getting through.
